The Addison Toole Memorial Scholarship is named in memory of Addison Toole, a courageous thirteen year old who dreamed of attending UA but lost a three-year battle with cancer before he could do so. It is awarded each year to one or more incoming freshmen and/or continuing students who have been diagnosed with a life threatening disease; have a sibling with a life threatening disease; or have experienced the death of a sibling. The amount of the scholarship, as well as the number of recipients, varies each year. Students admitted to UA who fit one or more of these criteria are encouraged to apply. The application consists of three short essay questions and medical verification of the student’s/sibling’s medical condition. Medical information will remain private and will be destroyed after the selection process is complete. The application is due by January 18, 2019. Decisions for the Addison Toole Memorial Scholarship are determined in early March, and outcomes are communicated with applicants in conjunction with the official notification letter distributed by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Scholarships.Apply for the Toole Scholarship
