PRESIDENT OF STUDENT AFFAIRS
Dr. Mark Nelson will serve as the Interim Vice President for Student Affairs and Vice Provost. Mark has the institutional knowledge and experience that we need for this important role since he has served as a member of the faculty and an administrator since 1991. His area of expertise is in organizational communication and leadership development. During the short period of time that I have worked with him as Assistant Provost, I have quickly seen his skill at bringing groups together and empowering them to work together to make The University of Alabama truly great. I am confident that he will forge new partnerships between and among the staff in Student Affairs and the faculty and staff in Academic Affairs insuring that the experiences afforded our students both in and outside of the classroom are consistent with the expectations that everyone has for the Capstone.
